Glasgow’s ALT signs up to UNLOCKED Internship Programme

Glasgow-based creative media and digital marketing agency ALT has announced a new intern partnership with social movement UNLOCKED.

The UNLOCKED Internship Programme was launched in 2023 by creative agency John Doe, designed to help kickstart opportunities for underrepresented emerging talent looking to get a break into the creative industries by partnering with leading agencies.

As part of the collaboration, ALT will be offering a dedicated internship to a candidate keen to learn more about the media and digital marketing sector.

Laura Haggerty, director and co-founder of ALT said: “Non-white ethnicities and those from low-income backgrounds are massively underrepresented in the creative industries. To help change this, we are committing to the Internship Programme to unlock new work opportunities for all, with the clear future goal of fairer and greater representation.

“We are passionate about the creative industries, and the extraordinary people who work within them and we strongly believe that the media and marketing industries should do all they can to encourage and create a diverse environment, accessible to all.

Mercy Abel, UNLOCKED internship programme director and impact & marketing lead at John Doe added: “The aim of the programme is laser focused on shifting the dial positively when it comes to more diverse representation in the Scottish creative industry. We are excited to begin our partnership with ALT and work with other esteemed organisations across Scotland for our second year and hopefully many more to come.”

The successful applicant will secure a minimum four-week internship between July and September and will be paid the real living wage. There’s no maximum age limit however all applicants must be 18 or over.

Applications for the UNLOCKED x ALT internship programme are now open until Sunday 28 April.
