He went on to present shows on Pennine 235 from Bradford across two decades. He eventually went into band management, a side of the industry where he worked for more than 25 years.

A tribute on Facebook from former Pennine colleague Peter Milburn said Coxhead was “one of the great personalities of the music and radio industries”.

“He did some shows for us in the earlier days of Pennine Radio in Bradford which stood out for their originality, breadth of musical knowledge and, above all, a dry and unique sense of humour.”
