After a decade of senior in-house PR and marketing roles at leading film and broadcast manufacturers, including German camera and lighting giant Arri and Cheshire-HQd editing, post and camera manufacturer Blackmagic Design, Katie Colledge is launching Clapperboard Communications, a consultancy focused on tailored communications and content strategies for cutting-edge technology and facilities across the media and entertainment industry.
Based in Manchester, Colledge will offer a comprehensive range of services, including strategy development, content creation, media outreach, and social media campaigns, designed to connect technology providers, production companies, and studio facilities with the right audiences and communities.
Colledge has gained a blend of creative storytelling and technical expertise, including leading marketing for Arri’s Solutions business unit, and most recently focusing on virtual production and studio workflows. She is adept at uncovering authentic, compelling narratives within customer communities and translating these into impactful campaigns.
“I’ve always been inspired by the passion and innovation that underpin every stage of the production pipeline,” she said. “From cutting-edge technology providers to talented production crews and technicians who bring these projects to life, the energy and collaboration of those working behind the scenes are contagious.
“The opportunity to showcase these innovations, whether on a film set, studio, concert stage, virtual production or postproduction facility, and translate them into compelling, impactful PR campaigns is incredibly exciting.”
Colledge’s experience spans both European and international campaigns, having worked with clients across multiple regions and markets. However, as a proud resident of the North West, she is particularly passionate about championing ambitious companies and facilities based in the regions. She also sits on the advisory board for Rise Women In Broadcast, where she has a remit for strengthening regional membership and events.
“The industry is going through immensely difficult times, so the need for relevant, impactful, and effective communication plans is imperative, not only to help businesses remain profitable, but also to retain and nurture the talent that is essential for this sector to flourish,” she added. “In a landscape filled with innovation and creativity, I’m looking forward to helping companies stand out with authentic, targeted messaging that will enable them to navigate these challenges and thrive as the outlook brightens.”
