Resonance, the London-based B2B tech communications consultancy co-founded by former NEC EMEA comms chief Claire Williamson, has announced the opening of a new office in Manchester.
The company is immediately creating four new roles, including the appointment of a familiar North West native to, lead the expansion and support the region’s booming technology and fintech sectors.
Founded 14 years ago by Williamson and Tom Fry, an investment banking technology developer, Resonance has built its reputation on “translating complex technology narratives into compelling stories.” This technical insight has already proven valuable for several high-growth Manchester tech firms the consultancy has been supporting over the past three years, including companies in the region’s enterprise software sectors. The new permanent office represents “a strategic deepening of the company’s commitment to the Northwest,” where it plans to expand its client portfolio.
Claire Williamson, managing director at Resonance said: “Manchester is full of ambitious tech businesses building the systems, tools, and platforms that will shape how we all live and work. We’re already working with some of the most exciting challengers in the region. This new base allows us to bring our expertise close to a hotbed of action and talent, helping the brands of the future cut through, earn influence, and drive the outcomes that matter.”
The latest announcement comes as Prolific North launches Graft, its new editorial series exploring the North’s tech ecosystem. Manchester is the UK’s fastest-growing tech and fintech hub outside London, with over 10,000 digital and tech companies, contributing £5 billion to the regional digital economy. Its fintech sector alone adds £1 billion to the national economy, driven by rapid growth in AI, payments, open banking, and cybersecurity.
The new Manchester office will be led by Laura Cameron (pictured), who re-joins Resonance as a senior manager and North West lead. Cameron brings extensive experience in technology comms, having previously worked with Resonance’s London team before returning to her native North West to continue her career with Manchester agency Rumpus. Cameron’s return to Resonance creates a natural bridge between the London headquarters and the new operation.

The hires will join a growing international team that promises the “ability to understand and communicate complex tech narratives with authority and clarity” and has delivered campaigns for clients across enterprise software, AI, data, cybersecurity and fintech. The team includes former journalists, analysts, and ex-tech professionals including developers with experience in global financial institutions.
