Mark Varley, the managing partner of MEC Manchester, is to join Havas Media’s new Manchester office.

We revealed in July that Havas would be opening a new base near MediaCityUK in order to service the £15m strategic media planning account it had won from the BBC.
That account had previously been held by MEC Manchester for three years.
Varley joined MEC Manchester in 2007 as head of its digital division, Interaction. Prior to that he was at All Response Media in Leeds.
Havas Media’s Manchester office is being headed up by managing director, Natasha Murray, who’s in charge of building a team in the city.
Havas, which is quoted on the Paris Bourse, is the world’s sixth largest marketing services group.
It already employs over 200 people in Manchester across Havas Lynx, Havas PR and Havas People.
Varley is expected to make the move after working out his contract at MEC.
