creative cupThe Manchester Creative Cup – aka the city’s five a side footy tournament for creative and digital folk who aspire to more than geekiness – is back for its fourth outing.

Previous winners have included Gyro HSR, Made By Shape and Great Fridays.

Fund-raising is a key part of the event and each year a specific charity is chosen and to date over £6,000 has been raised for the three charities nominated so far: Marie Curie, St. Ann’s Hospice and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The organisers are hoping that this year’s tournament will take the amount raised to over £10,000 with this year’s nominated charity being the Alzheimer’s Society.

The tournament has this year moved from its previous May fixture to October and Creative Cup founder’s, freelance digital designer Ian Cox said: “We decided to change the date so agencies are in a better position to compete. It’s after the summer holidays and it falls on a weekend with no Premier League fixtures, so we’re hoping for a good turnout. A great get together over football and beer; it’s something a lot of agencies look forward to.”

The entry fee is £95 per team and all proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Creative Cup will take place on Sunday 13 October and kick-off is 12 noon.
