Citypress has been appointed by the Midcounties Co-operative, the largest independent co-operative society in the UK, as its retained PR agency.
The Manchester agency will run PR programmes for eight of the society’s trading groups – including Co-operative Food, Travel, Childcare, Pharmacy and Funeralcare – to support their individual sales, marketing and commercial objectives.
It’s also leading corporate and CSR communications programmes to promote the society’s core values and position it at the forefront of the co-operative movement.
The Midcounties Co-operative is headquartered in Warwickshire and has more than 500 sites and 439,000 members. It has grown rapidly in recent years and generates annual sales of more than £1 billion.

Citypress, which has over 50 employees and annual revenues of £3.5m, is headquartered in Manchester and has offices in London, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Bristol.
