Yorkshire’s Air TV is to produce its first two feature length documentaries for 5 with a dual order of 90 minute films about Prince William.
Prince William: Passion, Honour, Duty and Prince William: A Life In Pictures explore his life through extensive archive material and expert interviews, revealing the stories that have shaped the future king.
Both films chart the key moments that have influenced William’s life, profiling a monarch in waiting whose life has been shaped by a real sense of duty.
This dual order is the Yorkshire-based indie’s second commission for 5 following their five-part series Cumbria: The Lakes and The Coast which aired last year.
Air TV’s new William documentaries will be series produced by Ross Curran and exec produced by Morland Sanders. The commissioning editor for 5 / Paramount+ is Federico Ruiz.
Air TV executive producer Morland Sanders said: “It’s fantastic to continue our blossoming relationship with 5 by providing these fascinating insights into our future King. By working closely with our friends at Getty, Air TV’s filmmakers have been able to unlock a treasure trove of quality archive to make royal history elegantly engaging for the 5 audience.”
Federico Ruiz, VP and commissioning editor at 5 and Paramount + added: “It’s no secret that we love the royals at 5! We’re always on the lookout for fresh new takes on royal stories. These two films from Air TV bring their unique approach to documenting Prince William’s remarkable life.”
