CBeebies pre-school series Cloudbabies will be further extending its international reach after striking a deal with two broadcasters in Germany.

Producer and distributor Hoho Rights has closed a deal for the 52x10min programme with public broadcasters ARD and ZDF.

Danielle Davies, Hoho Entertainment’s head of sales and acquisitions, said: “Germany is a hugely significant European territory and (children’s channel) KiKA has an outstanding reputation as a key destination for high-quality pre-school programming.”

Cloudbabies, which launched on MediaCityUK-based CBeebies in 2012, is an animated series following four characters who live in a house in the clouds.

Sebastian Debertin, head of fiction, acquisition and co-production for KiKA, added: “Baba Pink, Baba Blue, Baba Yellow and Baba Green and solve a lot of pre-school oriented challenges and celebrate core values of human community – friendship and responsibility. Our audience will love the show.”
