Twenty Twenty has revealed more details about the new series of Channel 4’s First Dates, which has relocated to Manchester.

The production company announced that it was moving the 16th series of the award-winning show to the North West last year, as part of its “commitment to the UK regions.”

Maitre D’ Fred Sirieix returns with Merlin, Cici and Grant, who are joined by a supporting cast from Manchester, Liverpool and Huddersfield, including waiter, David:

“It has been such a challenging time for the hospitality sector which is really sad,” he explained.

“Luckily, working in a closed restaurant allowed us to follow detailed procedures which helped us to keep to create a safe and normal environment. It was my goal to give the daters their one night of laughs, love and romance.”

While the filming takes place in Manchester, production has remained in Bristol, which is home to one of Channel 4’s regional hubs.

Jon Crisp is Executive Producer of the programme, Neil Rubenstein is Series Editor, while Ian Osprey is Series Producer.

The first episode of the Bafta-winning series airs on 19th January.
