York’s Great Rail Journeys emphasises digital in major rebrand

Great Rail Journeys

York-based rail/river tour and tailor-made holiday provider Great Rail Journeys has announced the launch of a major rebrand to provide a more contemporary, digitally friendly face to the brand.

The reboot has been led by the brand’s in-house creative director, Chris Lines with new logos designed by McCann Leeds. Great Rail Journeys’ affiliate Rail Discoveries, along with its US offering Vacations by Rail, have also been given a bolder appearance to help resonate with the target demographic. The rebrand aims to “bring to life the premium product offering through a contemporary new look and feel.”

Lines said: “Our main aim was to ensure Great Rail Journeys has an impactful presence across all communication channels, including traditional media marketing materials as well as video and online content. As we’ve extended our communications into more digital channels we needed more design flexibility and to reinforce the quality of the brands offering.

Great Rail Journeys recently moved into new offices in York’s Hudson Square. With five decades of experience, GRJ and its sister brands offer more than 300 escorted rail tours, river cruises and tailormade holidays to over 40 countries globally. It caters for a growing demographic of culturally interested, travel-hungry 55+ year olds who typically prioritise travel spend within their household budgets. Popular itineraries include exploring the Swiss Alps on the Glacier Express or journeying by steam train through Edinburgh, the Highlands and Islands.
