The latest film from Liverpool-born award-winning director Brian Percival is to be screened in the city to raise charity cash.
The Book Thief is based on the International best-selling novel, written by Markus Zusak and tells the story of Liesel (Sophie Nélisse), an extraordinary and courageous young girl sent to live with a foster family in World War II Germany.
And it’s screening in the city will raise funds for Clapperboard UK which has worked with more than one thousand young people between the ages of 12-19 across the North West ‘bringing creativity into their lives’.
Percival, who is probably best-known for Downton Abbey alongside work such as North and South and About a Girl, welcomed the charity screening.
“Clapperboard is a charity close to my heart and it gives me great pleasure that we’re holding a charity screening in my home city where proceeds raised from the screening will go directly to Clapperboard’s youth project,” he said.
He is also making himself available for a question and answer session immediately following the screening at Picturehouse@FACT, 88 Wood Street, Liverpool, L1 4DQ on Tue 25th February.
Tickets: £15, concessions £12 (Inc complimentary reception drink at Ma Egertons).
