Bestfit TV pays tribute to former Love Island contestant Sophie Gradon

Tributes have been paid to former Love Island contestant, Sophie Gradon, who died suddenly this week.

She found her fame on the ITV show, but had been a regular contributor to Leeds-based Bestfit magazine, as well as fronting its Sky TV series.

The second series of the show had been due to launch in August, with Gradon expected in Leeds for a production meeting tomorrow. The team behind the programme say they will delay the programme out of respect.

“This was very unexpected and a bolt out of the blue. I had been speaking to her earlier in the week and was looking forward to meeting up again.  I was due to meet her this weekend to plan the new series,” said Bestfit TV managing director and co-presenter Faris Fisher.

“She  was one of our best loved colleagues. Sophie was a great friend and presenter and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew or met her.  She was a very accomplished Individual and always lit up a room whenever she walked in. She will be sorely missed by all the team.”

Northumbria Police are not treating her death as suspicious.

Yesterday ITV2 stated:

“The whole ITV2 and Love Island team are profoundly saddened to hear the news about Sophie, and our deepest sympathies and thoughts go to her family and friends.”
