Tweedy & Fluff, the stop-frame animation series written and created by Greater Manchester-based children’s author Corrinne Averiss, has been nominated for a BAFTA Television Award in the Children’s (Scripted) category.
Directed by Chris Randall, and produced by creative animation studios Second Home Studios in Birmingham and Stitchy Feet in Manchester, it is one of only four UK children’s series recognised across all genres.
The series, first launched on Channel 5’s Milkshake in October 2023, tells the story of Tweedy, a little toy made from tweed cloth, living in a weaver’s cottage, and Fluff, a four-legged ball of woolly fuzz who becomes his beloved pet, as the duo go about daily life.

Narrated by actress Nina Wadia OBE, the series ‘consistently tops timeslots’ and is a ‘key driver’ for My5 VOD, ranking in the Top 10 kids’ titles.
Writer, creator and showrunner, Corrinne Averiss, said: “This BAFTA nomination recognises the many fine layers of thought, love and respect that went into Tweedy & Fluff to create the perfect enriching experience for preschoolers.
“We are truly thrilled and grateful for the on-going support of our broadcast and distribution partners who understand how much a series like this is needed by children today.”
International sales, led by MIAM! distribution, continue to expand with the show airing on DRK (Denmark), Canal Polska (Poland), EDYE (South America), Canal Once (Mexico), HRT (Croatia), YLE (Finland), SVT (Sweden), BBC Alba, S4C, TG4 (Ireland), and Channel 5’s Milkshake! in the UK.
Development on Season two is underway as the producers seek investment and welcome funding conversations. The winner of the BAFTA Children’s (Scripted) award will be announced on May 11 at the BAFTA Television Awards.
