Manchester Pride has appointed Hebden Bridge-based agency Ayup Digital as its new digital partner.

As well as the four day annual celebration in August which sees parades and parties take to the streets of the city, Manchester Pride is a registered charity that campaigns for equality and challenges discrimination; creates opportunity for engagement and participation and celebrates lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender (LGBT) life.

The agency has been tasked with improving the organisation’s online presence and developing the user experience culminating in the re-development of the main website manchesterpride.com later this year.

Head of digital at Ayup, Mike Stephens said: “We are really thrilled to help such a great and important organisation improve their digital presence. We’re excited to get started on the project and we are looking forward to working with Pride over the course of this year and beyond”.

Ayup has already launched a website to support Superbia, Pride’s annual programme of culture.

This year is an especially important year for Manchester Pride as it prepares to mark the 25th anniversary of celebrating LGBT life in Manchester.

The new website will be built as part of those celebrations and will focus on improving user experience with increased functionality, better content and event information. The agency has also been tasked with improving the donating and ticket-buying processes.

Chief Exec at Manchester Pride chief executive Mark Fletcher said they were impressed with Ayup’s ideas: “We’re confident they will strengthen our online presence whilst making the digital experience more engaging for our users. ”
