Stockport building society appoints marketing manager

Vernon Building Society has added to its marketing team, with a new marketing manager.

Alexander Deakin takes up the role, having previously been an advertising sales account manager at MEN Media.

The 23-year-old drama graduate replaces Nathaniel Harwood, who held the role for 3 years, before joining Smart Money People as customer success manager.

“I am very excited and honoured to step into this challenging and fundamental role within The Vernon Building Society,” said Deakin.

“The Vernon is renowned for its appreciation and care of its customers, community and employees, and I believe that this will be a brilliant environment for me to work effectively.

“I hope to continue to represent the Vernon brand on its next chapter as we continue to bring innovative products to the market.”

The building society has also recruited Adam Pemberton as marketing assistant. He had been teaching English in China and previously worked in field sales within the telecom and broadband sector.

He will be responsible for social media strategy and creating content.

The marketing department will continue to be run by Ian Keeling, the company’s director of sales and marketing.
