Morton promoted to MD of Kellogg's UK and Ireland
Oli Morton has been promoted to Managing Director of the Manchester-headquartered UK and Irish arm of Kellogg’s.
Morton, 38, is currently senior sales director for the cereal giant, which he joined in July 2016. Prior to this, he held senior commercial positions at Mars and Pepsico.
He said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of the last 18 months but it is a huge honour to now be taking up the reins of one of this country’s most well-loved brands which has been part and parcel of life in Manchester for more than eight decades.”
Morton has a BSc in Management Sciences from UMIST – now the University of Manchester - and a postgraduate diploma in Business Management from the Nottingham Business School. He lives with his family in South Manchester.
The change comes after the current head of Kellogg’s in Britain – Dave Lawlor – was promoted to run Kellogg’s for Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
Lawlor, who has worked for Kellogg’s for more than 25 years, will now relocate to Ireland with his family.
Kellogg’s has been based in Manchester since 1938 and employees more than 1,000 people across the city-region.
It operates the world’s largest cereal factory in Trafford Park and announced this summer that it would move its UK and Irish HQ from its current Old Trafford site to MediaCityUK from January 2018.
