Tim Carter, MultiStory Media managing director, is to take on a newly created role which will put him at the helm of another ITV Studios-owned indie, Twofour.

The news comes as Twofour’s CEO and CCO, Melanie Leach and Andrew MacKenzie, confirmed plans to launch a new production company called South Shore, in which ITV Studios will take a minority stake.

Leach and MacKenzie – who will be joined at South Shore by Twofour’s CFO and COO Anthony Hughes – are the team behind hits including Educating Yorkshire, The Jump and This Time Next Year.

South Shore’s output will span documentary, popular factual and entertainment, with an exact launch date to be confirmed.

In his new dual-role position, Carter will work with Twofour’s senior creative team including Dan Adamson, David Clews, Rachel Innes-Lumsden and Sam Grace.

As MD at MultiStory Media, Carter has led the rebrand from Shiver as well as overseeing its first commission for Netflix, The Big Flower Fight, and its first BBC One prime time show, the forthcoming fashion format You Are What You Wear, fronted by Rylan Clark.

Julian Bellamy, Managing Director, ITV Studios, said: ”Mel and Andy have been the driving force behind Twofour’s huge success over the last few years and have been behind an array of brilliant shows from the Educating series to The Real Marigold Hotel.

“I’m delighted that Tim has agreed to lead Twofour and MultiStory into this exciting new era. Tim has taken MultiStory to the next level since he joined in 2018 and his passion and creative vision makes him the ideal choice to build on Mel and Andy’s fantastic legacy.”
