Manchester’s G&H has joined forces with retail group, Nisa, to launch a “revolutionary” retail print offering, following a £5m investment in new technology.

Individual retailers at Nisa’s 2500 stores will now be able to order fully customised product brochures and discount vouchers.

“We trialled the system with retailers for a number of months to ensure that this industry first provides an instant impact for our members, and we’re delighted with the results,” explained Ian Bishop, Nisa marketing director.

“This service enables retailers to fully personalise every aspect of their store marketing, delivering flexibility to them and creating the potential for greater customer engagement.”

With fast turnaround times and working 24/7, more than 5m personalised Nisa print items will be produced every month. These will be ordered through a web portal, through which system members can check stock levels and decide on individual store promotions as well as group-wide offers.

The printing is being done on a £5m Goss Web Offset Press, with Kodak Propser 4-colour inkjet heads – the only machine of its kind in the UK.

“This is a landmark development in retail promotion and we are grateful to Nisa for their commitment and enthusiasm,” added Dave Hatton, managing director of Trafford Park-based G&H.

“The ability to deliver full colour personalisation lends itself to a huge number of applications in the retail, marketing and service sectors.  Combined with fast turnaround times, I believe it will reignite the use of print as a personal communications vehicle for marketing.”
