MediaCity has welcomed a wave of new businesses and relocations since the recent opening of flexible workspace portfolio Flex, as well as newcomers in its more conventional office spaces.
A total 11,308 sq ft of space has been snapped up across Flex’s White Tower as well as the Tomorrow, Blue, and Orange Towers, signalling strong demand and growth momentum across the destination.
The new occupiers include a diverse mix of startups, scaling SMEs, educational institutions, tech and gaming developers, and established international firms, highlighting the destination’s continued appeal to a diverse professional community.
The influx follows a £1m investment into flexible workspace offering, Flex. Completed earlier this summer, the refurbishment has added 15 office suites ranging from two to 16 desks, covering a total of 8,200 square feet. Additional amenities include a boardroom, reception with waiting area, rejuvenating sleep pods, a breakout and kitchen area, focus booths, and a town hall space equipped with an integrated projector.
Flex at MediaCity offers scalable, managed workspaces and, as part of MediaCity’s vibrant waterfront campus, Flex members benefit from reliable high-speed broadband, communal kitchens, meeting-room discounts, and a dedicated reception and welcome team, plus access to podcast and visual studios part of MediaCity’s new Content Studio.
Among the latest additions is Intelligent Lending, the fintech business behind Ocean Finance, CredAbility, and TotallyMoney, which has chosen Orange at MediaCity as its new UK HQ.
The momentum at MediaCity also includes several other businesses establishing a new presence on campus. These include Elementary Studios, Wealth Everywhere (W.E) Group Ltd, Independent Utility Advice Ltd, Cubode Ltd and Synarim Holdings Ltd.
LTE Group UK, trading as The Manchester College and UCEN Manchester, has joined the campus, strengthening MediaCity’s growing education and training footprint.
A number of established occupiers have also opted to expand or relocate within the MediaCity property portfolio. Cubico Sustainable Investment has expanded its footprint significantly, growing from 428 sq ft to 841 sq ft. Other internal moves include Planisware, Extravision Limited and the International Netball Federation, each of which have taken new space better suited to their evolving needs.
In a further boost, global gaming technology leader International Game Technology (IGT) has signed a flex managed lease for 5,090 sq ft on the 16th floor of Blue Tower to support its expanding digital and development operations.
Rebekah Lloyd-Beere, head of Flex at MediaCity, said: “MediaCity continues to experience rapid growth, it’s fantastic to see so many new businesses and industries joining us, and our existing occupiers thriving and growing. From innovative startups to international firms, the significant new occupancies demonstrate the confidence companies have in the destination as a place to thrive and scale, and we are continuously working towards bettering our spaces, for our residents and business occupiers.”
MediaCity is now home to over 250 SMEs across its estate, alongside major international names in tech, finance, education, and the creative industries. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible leasing, and an unrivalled mix of workspace, lifestyle, and leisure, it continues to stand out as a world-class destination for ambitious businesses.
So far in 2025 overall, MediaCity has welcomed 330 new jobs, driven by a combination of business relocations, company expansions, and the arrival of venues like brunch pros Moose and Italian lasagne masters Mattina (previously known as Blanconero).
