matildasplanetlogoSocial Communications is celebrating its sixth account win of 2015 thanks to a PR contract from an insulation company.

The Sale-based agency’s has been appointed to help position, promote and market Matilda’s Blanket, a solid wall insulation product.

Its unusual name originates from Matilda’s Planet, who operate from Port Talbot in Wales, and develop technologies that either reduce energy consumption, harness energy cheaply, or conserve energy that has already been harnessed.

Social Communications will initially assist the SME with event co-ordination, media relations and social media support.

MD John Quinton-Barber said: “Matilda’s Planet is just the kind of company that we love to work with; they are disruptive in what they do and their products make a real difference to people, whilst also benefitting the wider environment.”

The Matilda’s Blanket product has been developed as a less disruptive way to get solid wall insulation into larger housing providers with multiple occupants.

Matilda’s Planet MD Sean McLaughlin explained: “The UK has some of the oldest and least energy efficient housing in Europe, but there are a number of misconceptions about the solutions available and the funding schemes on offer to everyone.”

Social Communications recently celebrated its second birthday, having expanded to nine full-time staff members in recent months.
