Johnston Press completes web makeovers

johnston-press-logoOne of the UK’s largest newspaper publishers with titles in Lancashire and Yorkshire has completed a makeover of its entire portfolio of digital sites.

In total, 173 news brands from Johnson Press, which previously had separate desktop and mobile sites, now have responsive website that automatically reconfigure to give the best possible viewing experience.

Led by Johnston Press’ director of digital news brand products, Paul Napier, the project was executed by his digital team and involved staff from almost every area of the publisher.

“The team has been working incredibly hard since the launch of the new Scotsman site last year. Much has changed in the industry and the wider world since then, and it’s fantastic to see that we’ve been able to exceed our target of making every site fully responsive by the end of the year – achieving our goal a month early,” stated Napier.

“Launching so many sites in so many different markets has been a complex process, but with the support of many dozens of colleagues from across Johnston Press, including the whole digital product team, editorial, advertising, design, marketing, learning & development and IT, as well as our development partners Endava, we now have easy-to-navigate sites for our audiences across the UK, displaying our editorial teams’ content in the best way.”
