Police investigate attack on Rotherham Advertiser photographer

South Yorkshire Police are looking into an assault on a newspaper photographer outside Rotherham Magistrates court.

According to the Rotherham Advertiser, Steve Mettam was left with a shoulder injury when a man, accompanying a suspect, pushed him into fencing.

Editor, Andrew Mosley said that they had reported it to the police:

“Our staff are entitled to do their jobs, while being treated with respect and without fear of being assaulted.”

Another man reportedly racially abused Mettam, calling him a “f***ing white d***head.”
