Bloom Agency has won a 4-way competitive pitch to work with Alpamare on the UK’s “first world class luxury” water park.

Alpamare is one of the largest operators of leisure parks in Europe and its new £14m park in Scarborough is due to open at Easter.

Leeds-based Bloom has been tasked with marketing the attraction, with the aim of bringing in half a million people every year. It will create and execute the advertising and media strategy, including the launch campaign.

“We had been looking for the right agency for some time and no one had got it quite right.  Then we met Bloom Agency and we were blown out of the water by their ideas,” explained Alpamare CEO, Anton Hoefter.

“They understand the heart of both Yorkshire people and the tourism industry. This, coupled with the insight they use to inform their creative, made for an exciting overall package.”

Hoefter’s firm aims to create 100 new jobs in the town, with the park promising to rival those in “Dubai and Florida.”

“We are delighted to be working with this international brand and bring a bit of Yorkshire creativity to the table,” added Neil Lockwood, Bloom Agency’s executive director of strategy & brand.

“It’s a great fit for us as we know the tourism and leisure market really well through work with existing clients such as Welcome to Yorkshire, Eurocamp, Showcase, National Trust and LA Fitness.”
