New Balance has unveiled the new Liverpool FC kit, following the reported £300m deal it signed in February.

The parent company of former kit supplier, Warrior, New Balance said that the new design had been influenced by the club’s heritage.

HoldNothingBackThe classic style is to emulate the “deep roots and defining moments” of its history, particularly the dominant side of the 80s, while the chequerboard weave is from the “red and white mosaic” created by the flags and scarves waved in the Kop.

“As we enter into a new era between New Balance and Liverpool Football Club, we want to celebrate the sacred bond between the club, the fans and the players,” said Richard Wright, general manager, New Balance Football.

“We have worked closely with LFC throughout the design process and I believe the product team has captured this bond in the shirt textile design.”

The “multi-year” deal with New Balance is the biggest in the club’s history. The kit will be sold at the club store and in more than 500 New Balance retail outlets.

Earlier this year the sportswear giant announced its arrival in the football market with an advert filmed at The Space Project.
