Weber Shandwick Manchester has been appointed by the North West Ambulance Service to deliver an integrated public engagement campaign for its Patient Transport Service.

The campaign, which began last month, will run until March and will include a mix of traditional PR, social media, creative, radio advertising and field marketing.

As well as the Patient Transport Service, which is accessed by 1.2m non-emergency patients across the North West each year, the agency will also be looking to educate and inform around eligibility criteria.

MD Jo Leah said: “This is an extremely important service provision for patients across Cumbria, Merseyside, Cheshire and Lancashire and we will deliver a multi-channel, strategic campaign across these areas for the North West Ambulance Service to help those in need access it.”

Sarah Smith, associate director at North West Ambulance Service, added: “The Weber Shandwick team impressed us with their creative and visual approach to raising awareness levels of the Patient Transport Service.

"At pitch, they were incredibly enthusiastic about the campaign but also understanding of the challenges we face and the need to implement a whole systems communication model including social, digital and traditional media as well as face to face engagement.”

Other clients recently won by Weber Shandwick Manchester include the town of Burnley and turkey company Bernard Matthews.
