Body found in police search for News UK manager

adamw-150x150A body has been found by police searching for missing senior News UK manager Adam Whitehurst.

Whitehurst, 34, was the client and partnerships senior manager at News UK, having worked at the company for 14 years. He began his career as a broadcast assistant for BBC Radio.

He was last seen at around 10am in the Churchtown area of Southport, his home town, on December 31.

A spokeswomen from News UK said this morning that the company was awaiting confirmation from the police before releasing any statement.

Merseyside Police said officers were liaising with Lancashire Constabulary after the discovery of a man’s body on land in the Banks area on Saturday.

The body has not been formally identified and forensic tests are being carried out to establish its identity.

A police spokesman told the Liverpool Echo: “There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the cause of his death.”
