Pan-European PR brief for Pelican

Packaging PR specialist Pelican has been awarded a pan-European communications contract by Markem-Imaje Ltd, the global supplier of coding and marking equipment.

The Saddleworth-based agency will handle all European external communications for the company, which has over 40,000 customers and 30 subsidiaries worldwide.

It will also look after service launches, trade media relations, trade exhibition support and business case study activity.

Target areas will mainly be France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, with a dedicated associate for each country speaking the local language. Activity will be designed to raise awareness of the brand and position it as market leader.

Arnaud Laugier, EMEA marketing director, said: “We selected Pelican on account of its extensive knowledge of the packaging and food and drink sectors. They also have a depth of expertise in European trade public relations – and a great journalist contact book.”

Will Herman, senior consultant at Pelican who will be leading the account, added: “Our communications programme will raise the profile of their new technologies, products and services on a European scale, to generate new business leads for the organisation and increase their bottom line.”

Pelican has recently won other briefs from Royal Greenland and APEAL.
