A unique call centre business, which only employs actors to staff its contact centre, is opening a new office at MediaCityUK.

RSVP (Media Response) currently has 370 people working out of its headquarters in London Docklands, and initially plans to recruit 50 staff to Salford Quays, which would rise to 150 within the first 12 months.

“MediaCityUK is such a great place for us to be situated in the North. It’s a vibrant and creative environment and it suits us perfectly to be so close to The Lowry Theatre, BBC North, ITV Studios and the Coronation Street set,” said Mark Abernethy, managing director RSVP Media Response.

“It will be great to have so many casting directors close by and they in turn will have easy access to a pool of actors, should they need to fill last minute castings. This is the perfect location for our actor agents, and also for our business growth”.

It will be based at the Digital World Centre, next to the Lowry Outlet.

“As work commences on phase two of MediaCityUK and the site is set to double in size over the next ten years, we are keen to welcome thriving companies such as RSVP which will support our vision for growth and development,” added Mark Robinson, head of asset management MediaCityUK.

The firm has been running for almost 3 decades, and it anticipates its 2016 turnover to be £14m.

It says that actors’ training can help them “engage and build a unique rapport with callers from all walks of life.” They are also allowed time off for auditions and they can leave at short notice should a role come up.

RSVP also has an in-house theatrical agency, RSVP Artists, which will also have a presence in Manchester.
