COVID-19’s presence is being felt by the whole world. For businesses of all sizes, it’s difficult, unexpected, and brings many challenges. We’re compiling a list of services that shows how the North is coming together to beat the coronavirus. 

The outbreak has dramatically changed how Northern businesses, agencies, production house and others operate, meaning that companies are struggling to do everything they want to do. What we have seen though, is heartwarming examples of how some companies are offering discounts or free services to help out others.

The Leeds-based tech company is offering its business intelligence solutions for free to support and empower Yorkshire organisations in the wake of the global disruption caused by Coronavirus.

Typically provided to software vendors, Panintelligence’s highly intuitive platform will be available to businesses to help them take advantage of their data and be better equipped to react to real-time monitoring to make decisions quickly.


P&B Social

Set up by former staff from Unilad and Ladbible, the team at P&B Social know how to do some seriously effective social media marketing. They announced on LinkedIn that they are offering:

“Free social media consultancy during this difficult time for small businesses in the UK. We will help you connect with customers new and existing, build your brand awareness and drive online sales.”



Rossendale-based CircleLoop, the cloud-based phone system for business, has pledged to provide free business telephony to any school, healthcare provider or charity who is facing remote working challenges.

The firm said its system can be live “in a matter of minutes”, with no card or payment details required.


One Day Agency

One Day is a digital agency that is offering free consultancy within any discipline of digital marketing: advertising, planning, strategy, creative, content, channels, & more.

The agency can provide support, strategy and audits to companies unsure of what to do with their digital advertising needs.


Digital marketing agency,, are offering performance-based SEO and PPC marketing to businesses in sectors most affected by the global health crisis.

With demand for remote working solutions now at an all-time high, the need for help, knowledge and support is unprecedented. That’s why Cloud specialists Vapour have announced that their technical team is offering consultancy services free of charge to help businesses through this complex time.

They’ve also rolled out some new processes internally so that, if organisations need to get up and running with a new remote working solution, they can (in most cases) have everything ready in a maximum of 48 hours.


Force 24

Manchester-based tech company Assenty are helping event companies hit hard by event cancellations set up online-only events. The company is adding its social-first audience interaction and live polling technology with video conferencing platforms. 

Assenty is also putting on free webinars designed to help people adjust to the new way of working.

Digital advertising platform Adzooma has taken it upon themselves to help businesses, digital agencies, and SMEs alike – by temporarily opening access to the full Adzooma platform for free. 

As of March 2020, through to at least the start of June 2020, anyone who is using Google, Facebook, or Microsoft ads to promote their business or services, will be able to benefit from the time and cost efficiencies that Adzooma can provide, at no cost. 



GradTouch has decided to remove all fees for advertising roles in frontline services such as the NHS, policing and public service, as well as for paid, voluntary or remote roles in the charity sector that have arisen as a result of new demands because of Covid-19.

Facebook recently announced they’ll be giving away $100m worth of cash grants and ad credits for the platform.

GRM Digital

The Leeds-based multi-national web development and digital marketing agency has launched a campaign to provide three local businesses with the chance to benefit from a completely free e-commerce website.

  • To apply, business owners must register their interest at by 5pm on 31st March 2020. The GRM Digital team will choose the three candidates based on where it believes its assistance will have the most impact. The three selected firms will be announced on 3rd April 2020.


VIP Worldwide 

East Yorkshire-based VIP Worldwide is a video production, public relations, virtual reality production, content marketing, digital storytelling and social media marketing company for luxury hotels and resorts.

The company is offering free remote support, help and advice to hotels and tourism destinations who are looking to video creation to keep their social media channels alive. As guests are unable to check-in, VIP can still help hoteliers and tourism destination bring their travel and guest experiences to life through UG video.


Down at the Social

In a bid to help freelancers, the team behind Down at the Social have commissioned artist Harrison Edwards to create a t-shirt to capture the spirit of the city and raise funds for a pot to help freelancers and small businesses around Greater Manchester.

The agency will match freelancers and agencies together and pay the freelancers from the t-shirt pot. All freelancers will be paid a fixed rate of £50 for a half day or £100 for a whole day.

Manchester Digital is offering tech firms a free three-month membership and support package to help them through the lockdown.

Sheffield-based DeeperThanBlue are helping get businesses online with their COVID-19 rescue packages. They’ve made three different packages for different sized businesses.

All you have to do is apply and during the application, you’ll be asked to donate to a charity.

Manchester-based cybersecurity and cloud-managed services provider Yobah has announced a free ‘onboarding’ service for its ‘Virtual Workplace’ product.

In what is a tough time for SMEs, Yobah has scrapped the ‘onboarding’ costs usually associated with this type of product, saving businesses thousands of pounds and keeping things simple with a monthly cost from just £70 per user, making this an affordable solution for SMEs looking to get their businesses online and moving during the crisis. 



Employ Remotely

The team behind the Employ Remotely site, a platform to hire remote software developers, has created a free CV checker for developers looking to get a job.


First Internet

By way of support, First Internet would like to offer any new clients two months of social media marketing or email marketing template for FREE to anyone who needs our help bringing their business online, in whatever capacity.

Team Mental Health

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to support businesses, Altrincham-based training provider Team Mental Health has made its workplace online resources and online mental health awareness training freely available to all. 

The team has also worked with Edstart Sports Coaching to develop a free resource for parents, carers and teachers. The ‘Wellbeing Through Sport Activity’ programme is designed to promote positive mental and physical health in children and families whilst they are at home.

Manchester-based ActiveWin Media Group has announced that it will support e-commerce brands during the Covid19 crisis by offering free auditing services for PPC, display media, SEO, social, CRM, and live chat reviews for struggling businesses.

Furthermore, monthly PPC management fees are waived for the first month of activity, with reduced costs for the following two months for new clients to ease the economic impact of global lockdowns.
