A new group has been established, to help the 2000 creative businesses in Cheshire East.

Weave, is an industry-led organisation, which will promote the sector and address skills gaps. The local council says that creative industries employ 7,500 people in the region alone, with a combined annual turnover of £250m.

“Our creative businesses have a proven track record of award-winning innovation and regularly top the league tables of the most influential industry-leading expertise. Weave will celebrate our strengths, ensure we can both retain and attract skilled staff and be equipped to face the challenges of a rapidly-evolving sector,” explained Weave chair Denise Proctor.

Some of the major companies include the Warner Bros owned TT Fusion, ThinkPositive and McCann Manchester.

“Cheshire East is home to some of the most diverse and dynamic businesses in the county. We are delighted to help to raise the profile of our creative and digital sector and celebrate their achievements, whilst securing future growth,” added Councillor George Hayes, chairman of the Skills and Growth Company.
