HI Group Ltd says it will be creating more than 50 jobs in Manchester as it launches new value e-commerce platform, HiHouse.

Supported by “an international supply chain” the company will focus on household, toiletries, pet and baby care.

The hires will be across marketing, content, buying, operations and customer service departments.

“It’s great to be supporting the local job market. There is so much talent out there in Manchester so to be harnessing it for a new venture is exciting,” said Alex Butcher, marketing campaign manager.

“For the senior management, HiHouse has been a nugget of an idea for many years and it’s now finally coming to life for an Autumn launch. Today’s fast-paced, expensive way of living has taken valuable time and money from too many of us so HiHouse is all about offering a quick and easy way to shop for those bulky household items.  We have no bricks and mortar stores and we deal directly with key suppliers, so we pass on our savings to our customers.”

The platform has been built on Magento, by Manchester agency, Cube3. A teaser page went live today.
