Karen Lewis joins Intermarketing as head of digital

Karen LewisKaren Lewis, previously the client services director at MadeByPi for six years has joined Leeds agency Intermarketing as its head of digital.

Intermarketing was ranked number 10 in Prolific North’s definitive compilation of the North’s Top 50 integrated agencies last November.

The agency employs 65 staff and claims a turnover of £11m. Clients include adidas, Jet2.com, La Redoute, RSA and Shop Direct.

The agency’s managing Partner, Steve Sowden, said that Lewis would be overseeing a team of eight and will be seeking to strengthen the team further in the coming months. Lewis will also be joining Intermarketing’s management board.

Sowden added: “We are all over the moon at securing Karen as our new head of digital. We have ambitious plans and this role is pivotal to the agency’s future. We feel we have found the perfect person to continue the growth of digital within our business. I have known Karen for a couple of years and have always admired her approach, knowledge and drive and I’m looking forward to working with her to further establish Intermarketing Agency as the best integrated marketing agency in the country.”

Prior to joining in 2008, Lewis worked at Sense Internet and Swamp.

In 2012 she was appointed a partner in fellow Leeds digital agency MadeByPi.
