A new online store and design collective is launching this week in Halifax, founded by the former boss of creative agency, Raw.

Form & Glory has been set up to bring together artists, designers and makers to “breathe life into the sports merchandise and gift market.”

form and glory“I think there is a total disconnect between the amount of sheer creative talent we have, both in this country and around the world, and the level of creativity found in the products that dominate the sports memorabilia sector,” said Form & Glory founder, Steven Taylor.

“Form and Glory is all about tapping into, and rewarding, creative talent and has creativity at the very heart of the process. We need to move away from the gimmicks and mass-market approach. Why can´t sports fans also have design taste?”

Salford creative agency, Raw, is behind the company’s brand identity and website – Taylor is the co-founder and former managing director of the agency.

“It’s been really good fun to work with Steven on this new venture and it felt like it was a perfect fit in which we could all combine our knowledge and expertise in the sports sector. We really wanted the branding to reflect the quality and craftsmanship of the Form & Glory products and we’re hoping that there will be plenty more makers and designers keen to get involved with the collective in the months to come,” stated Rob Watson, Raw’s creative director and co-founder.

Contributors to Form & Glory include Athony Oram (UK), RS Barcelona (Spain) and Art of Sport (San Francisco) as well as a number of up-and-coming talent from the North of England.
