Inaugural exchange for influential Indian specialists

midaslogoA delegation of Indian digital industry leaders will be treated to a showcase of Greater Manchester’s innovative creative and digital SMEs next week.

Organised by MIDAS, Manchester’s Inward Investment Agency, in partnership with PVL media, the one day Digital Media Exchange is the first of its kind to be held in the region.

It includes keynote speeches by Ashish Kulkarni from Reliance Animation and Sabbas Joseph from Wizcraft International Entertainment. These speakers will also be joined by MedicCityUK’s Stephen Wild and the University of Salford’s Andrew Cooper.

Parminder Vir, OBE who is producer for the event said the value of this exchange cannot be underestimated.

“This is the first time many of these influential Indian creative and digital specialists will experience what Manchester has to offer and it promises to be a very special exchange of knowledge, ideas and best practise for the industry.”

Greater Manchester has the UK’s largest creative and digital cluster outside of London, employing 162,000 people and generating GVA of £5.4 billion each year, whilst the India sector generates $15 billion and is growing at a rate of 15.2% per annum.

Chief executive at MIDAS, Tim Newns said: “It’s estimated that by 2020 India will have over 600 million internet and over 800 million mobile users and the promise of so many consumers highlights the immense potential of the India market. This landmark event will be Manchester’s opportunity to offer partnerships and to facilitate solutions to the significant challengesIndia faces as a result of its own rapid growth. I would strongly encourage Greater Manchester based creative or digital SME’s to consider attending.”
