Northern technology delegation heads for Shoreditch

ignite100A delegation from the North’s technology world is heading off to the Silicon Roundabout this week.

Paul Smith, director of Newcastle’s startup accelerator Ignite 100, has launched the North of London event being held in Shoreditch to introduce investors, media and founders from the so-called Silicon Roundabout of digital companies to startups from the North of England.

“The point of the event is to encourage further collaboration, since plenty of teams in the region work between the North and South of the country. The massive cost benefits of basing teams in a startup hub outside London combined with the relative ease of doing business in the capital means founders genuinely don’t have to choose one or the other; both locations can be exploited for their strengths.”

The inaugural event will be on Wednesday 18th September at 6.30pm in Shoreditch at Google Campus – tickets are now available.   A limited number of startups form the North East can receive free return rail travel for the event thanks to partners Sendgrid – email paul@ignite100.com for details.
