Manchester-based production house The Gate Films has ventured into music video production for the first time.
The video, for alt-rock/post-punk band FOES, was directed by Simon Mulvaney and produced by Emily Brinnand for the band’s new track Beautiful Fiction, from their first EP with Basick Records.
The video makes an imaginative use of plastic to explore the nature of troubled romance “in a beguiling way”.
Mulvaney said: “I wanted to make an abstract film that leaves elements open to audience interpretation. Plastic was the perfect material to visually communicate the issues in the narrative, whilst also presenting exciting creative challenges.”
