logo-1MediaCity-based Audio Always has completed three documentary commissions across BBC radio which are to air this weekend.

The independent radio production company has produced the programmes, for BBC Radio 5 live, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra, at the company’s facilities at The Greenhouse, with a range of talent covering news, sport and music content.

Audio Always director Stuart Morgan, said “It’s been fantastic to work on such a wide range of programmes across a number of BBC networks. Being based at MediaCityUK and our close links to the BBC has really helped us deliver these commissions and we look forward to many more in the next few months.”

They will be broadcast as follows:

  • On Thursday 27 August at 9PM, BBC Radio 5 live celebrates 120 Years of the Rugby Football League with a look back at the history of the game, building up to this year’s Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Final at Wembley. George Riley speaks to a number of contributors including RFL legends Alex Murphy and Martin Offiah, commentator Ray French and historian Tony Collins. The programme will also be aired on BBC Radio Leeds and BBC Radio Humberside, the local stations for the teams competing in the final this Saturday.
  • On Sunday 30 August at 10AM, a special BBC Radio 5 live programme recorded in Miami. For Hurricane Katrina 10 Years On: Science of the Storm, we hear Simon King from 5 live Breakfast visiting the city leading worldwide hurricane research, as he explores the advances in hurricane science, how storms are predicted and what is being done to limit their impact.
  • On Tuesday 1st September at 9PM on BBC Radio 1, Sarah-Jane Crawford goes beyond the hits and the headlines to discover Who Makes Rihanna? The hour long documentary gives an insight into those who make the music, manage her tours, take her picture, create her style and keep RiRi in the public eye. The programme will also be aired on BBC 1Xtra on Sunday 30 August at 9PM.
