Splinter is behind a series of animations to promote science to young people.

The Liverpool agency was commissioned by BBC Learning to produce the films for its BBC Science Guides.

Jon Raffe, Splinter’s head of digital explained that they created an animated character called, Seymour Science to present the films. He’s a “smart-alec kid video-blogging about about science from his bedroom.|

The films cover day and night; forces; light; sound; and electricity. The concept was developed entirely in-house from scripting and storyboarding through to the illustration and animation.

Splinter is on the BBC’s digital supplier framework and last year they created animations for BBC Children’s and BBC Learning’s computer and coding initiative.
