BBC Sport at MediaCityUK has secured the live UK radio rights for this year’s Rugby World Cup.

It means that as well as appearing on Radio 5 Live, commentary will be streamed via the BBC Sport website, BBC Sport App and Radio App.

“We’re really pleased to be able to offer fans extensive commentary and coverage of Rugby World Cup 2015 across BBC radio and mobile output, giving audiences across the UK access to a wealth of content wherever they are. Our radio commentary is second to none and we’re looking forward to what will be a very exciting tournament,” said Richard Burgess, head of radio sport at the BBC.

Promising to be the biggest sporting event to take place in the UK since the London Olympics, Radio 5 Live will provide extensive coverage of the tournament

Its presenter line-up will include Mark Pougatch and Sonja McLaughlan, while rugby correspondent Ian Robertson will be joined by former England international Matt Dawson.

Dawson will also host a Rugby Show to preview and review the action each week throughout the tournament.

In the nations, BBC Scotland and BBC Ulster will bring live commentary from each of their home sides. BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru will have all of the Wales matches live, presented by Rick O’Shea with commentary from Gareth Charles and Martyn Williams. Radio Cymru coverage will be presented by Cennydd Davies and Jonathan Davies.
