Loaf's Aintree filming challenge
Loaf Creative says its latest campaign to promote the 2015 Crabbie’s Grand National Festival involved creating 'the hardest image we have ever had to capture'.
Grand National riders Katie Walsh and Sam Twiston-Davies are featured in photography and film including this striking image of Walsh wearing an elegant dress while riding a thoroughbred racehorse.
Loaf founder and creative director Dave Mullen, said: “We produced visuals few agencies would have dared to. To attempt to have a famous, well loved jockey, on a racehorse, in a dress, in high heels, thundering along alongside a moving camera vehicle at speed was probably the hardest image we have ever had to capture.
“We were delighted to work with two stars of racing itself, putting them front and centre to bring authenticity to the campaign. We have showcased the elegance, drama and excitement of the entire three-day festival from the perspective of someone that has ‘been there, done that.”
Twiston-Davies appears in the Lancashire-based agency’s campaign photography showcasing the Grand Opening Day of the Grand National Festival as the backdrop for a dramatic day out.
Loaf commissioned photographer Guy Farrow and digital video specialists Taylor James to support them on visual elements of the 2015 campaign. Carat Manchester took responsibility for media planning and buying, including outdoor advertising and a 30-second ITV slot.
