Red Union Films, Pinewood Pictures and IM Global have announced that they’re co-producing a new Liverpool-based crime series, The Killing Pool.

Based on the best-selling novels by Kevin Sampson, the television drama was announced at the International Festival of Business in the city.
The 8×60 minute drama features DCI Billy McCartney, a drug surveillance specialist, who is investigating an international heroin dealing ring.
“I’m delighted to be making The Killing Pool with such eminent and experienced partners as Stuart [Ford, IM Global] and Steve [Christian, Pinewood]. And to bring this calibre of production to our home city gives Stuart and myself an added buzz. Baltimore, Copenhagen, Louisiana, Malmo – now Liverpool Noir is set to make its mark,” said Red Union’s Kevin Sampson.
Shooting is expected to start early next year.
