Libra Television’s Same But Different has been nominated for an International Emmy.

The MediaCityUK-based indie made eight short films about what life is like for children growing up with disabilities for BBC Learning.

“Same But Different has been really well received on the awards circuit over the past 18 months with industry recognition from Bafta, The Royal Television Society, Kidscreen, Broadcast Digital, Learning On Screen and The Japan Prize,” said Libra’s Louise Lynch. David & Goliath’s David Barnes was the director.

“The International Emmy is our most prestigious nomination yet and we’re thrilled to be in contention. It’s a hugely competitive category with programmes from Japan, Argentina and The Netherlands also shortlisted.”

It’s only the second International Emmy Kids Awards and the ceremony will take place in New York City tonight.

You can watch the series on the BBC Learning website.
