Film and television rental firm, Provision, is moving to new premises in Trafford Park.

The firm, which is wholly owned by ITV Studios had, until now, been based across the road from Granada Television on Quay Street.

The 16,00sq ft Trafford Park location is owned by warehousing firm, AK Worthington PLC and has been built by Russells Construction. Comprising of an office and storage facility, it will house a range of cameras, lighting, grip and sound rental equipment.

“Finding a new facility in Manchester has been a carefully thought out project which considers ProVision’s long term future. The AK Worthington site has been a natural choice considering location, security of the site and the proactive approach AKW took to support what we wanted to achieve. With the move to a new base in Manchester, combined with our new London office making a real impact and continued investment in new technology, our team is well equipped for the future,” explained ProVision’s commercial manager, Graham Waite.

Provision has been around since 1989, supplying cameras including the Arri Alexa and Reds to productions like Peaky Blinders, Mrs Biggs, DCI Banks and The Great Train Robbery.

“This deal builds on a long history of AKW Group working with the film and TV industry in the Manchester area. We identified this site as being an ideal extension to Media City and believed it would be of interest for a tenant in this sector, for whom proximity to the TV channels was important. Clearly as a leading supplier of equipment to the studios, ProVision needs to be nearby but also requires space and security, both of which we can offer at our site in Westbrook Road,” added Tony Worthington, chairman of AKW Group.
