Jane Hudson is to join ITV as head of Continuing Drama with Charlie Hampton taking on the role of commissioning editor Drama, completing the broadcaster’s drama commissioning team rebuilding following the appointment of Steve November as director of Drama in April.

Hudson and Hampton join from Kudos and Company respectively.

Hudson will be taking up the position with ITV that November held before his new appointment.

Her role includes the day to day overseeing of both Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Hudson has previously worked with Corrie as a story liner and script editor.

Her credits at Kudos included producer (and writer) of Law & Order: UK and Hustle. Prior to joining Kudos in 2010, she produced two series of Waterloo Road for Shed Media and two series of Robin Hood for Tiger Aspect.

She began her broadcasting career working on Hollyoaks.

Hampton’s credits include producer of the South African-based drama Wild at Heart, EastEnders, Footballers’ Wives and as a script editor on Shameless.

Steve November said:  “I am delighted that Jane and Charlie will be joining the drama commissioning team and bringing their considerable experience of drama production and development to ITV.

“I know that we now have the right team in place to build on the current strength of ITV drama and to take it into an exciting future.”
