uktv-food-glorious-food-logoFood Glorious Food, Simon Cowell’s new cookery talent show, airs tomorrow on ITV. The series has been co-produced by Syco and Optomen Television with the music created by The Composer Works’ composers, Banks & Wag.

The show will be broadcast weekly on ITV at 8pm for nine weeks from this Thursday.

The new show claims to be “the biggest ever search for Britain’s best-loved recipe” and the producers have roped in several culinary faces including Lloyd Grossman and Tom Parker-Bowles to ensure the series reflects the Cowell factor.

Food Glorious Food will feature recipes “cooked with love by mums, dads, husbands and wives, grannies, families and friends all over Britain” and Marks and Spencer has already signed up to retail the winning dish across their stores nationally.

Banks & Wag, who previously worked with Cowell on The X Factor, describe the new show as “Very British. It’s full of quirky, eccentric characters, and we wanted our music to reflect that. It might be a tense competition, but it’s got real heart, too.”

Their music includes the theme, stings, bumpers and beds during the show.

Steve Berman, managing director of The Composer Works said: “Working with Syco and Optomen Television, two titans of the production community, has been a privilege. I’m thrilled that the hard work from our talented composers Banks & Wag has been so well received by the production.”

Established in 2011, The Composer Works is a leading music agency based at MediaCityUK. It represents ten composers including well-known composer team Banks & Wag whose writing credits include music for Blue Peter, The X Factor, and the Bafta-winning Friday Download.

The Composer Works’ commissions over the last six months include the BBC’s Blandings, ITV’s Surprise Surprise and CBeebies’ Old Jack’s Boat.
