Manchester-based Co-operative Bank will be a sponsor of Manchester Pride 2019 for the fourth consecutive year with over 50 employees taking part in parade events over the August Bank Holiday.

This year, the Bank’s LGBT+ colleague network ‘Proud Together’ will once again take part in the parade.

The bank has increased its sponsorship this year and the parade will include branded cars and rickshaws with merchandise also available during the weekend’s events.

The Bank is also offering the chance to win Pride Festival tickets via a competition on Hits Radio.

Chris Wilkin, ambassador of The Co-operative Bank’s ‘Proud Together’ network, said: “To be a sponsor of an event as important as Manchester Pride is a great thing for us to do.

“The co-operative values remain at the heart of our business and we are ‘people with purpose’; recognising how significant supporting and being part of events like Manchester Pride are, but also how it’s vital to have a culture within our bank that embraces diversity and inclusion day in and day out.”

Andrew Bester, Chief Executive at The Co-operative Bank, said: “Equality, inclusion and diversity are fundamentally important to us all at The Co-operative Bank, and we are delighted to play our part in supporting the success of the Pride festival here in Manchester, enabling so many colleagues to participate and enjoy this fantastic event.”

Tickets for Manchester Pride festival and spending money can be won through a Co-operative Bank-sponsored competition on Hits Radio.
