New group account director at Weber Shandwick

Weber Shandwick Manchester has announced the appointment of Sally Fairclough as group account director following the growth of its consumer offering over the summer.

She was previously at Beattie Communications and has more than 15 years of commercial experience for a variety of businesses and brands including Iceland, Marriott Hotels, Bacardi, Barnardo’s and Jose Cuervo.

MD Jo Leah said: “Sally’s experience of working on some of the UK’s best loved brands will be a significant asset to our consumer marketing division.

“Following a string of client wins in the last three months, we are growing our consumer offering, which includes brands such as Aldi, PZ Cussons and Beaverbrooks.”

Fairclough will manage the day-to-day running of the 10-strong consumer marketing team and will focus on delivering strategic campaigns for Princes Group, the leading importer of canned food in the UK and the third largest soft drinks manufacturer. She will also be responsible for implementing a collaborative PR campaign for North Wales, working across projects for Conwy, Isle of Anglesey & North East Wales.

Her key area of expertise is people management alongside the development of creative and tactical campaigns that have a big commercial impact.

She reports to director Anna Varley Jones who oversees the consumer division and is responsible for growth and driving collaboration across Weber Shandwick’s global offices.
