Monday Moves: McCann Manchester, HGA Creative, Diva and more
Each week, Monday Moves collates all the recent job-related news on Prolific North, as well as running through all the new opportunities on our job board.
There was significant news at MediaCityUK this week with the announcement that veteran BBC executive Saul Nassé is to leave his post as controller of BBC Learning.
Nassé, who originally joined the corporation in 1990 and has held a number of senior roles, is taking up the post of chief executive of the English language arm of Cambridge Assessment.
Other appointments news came with word of James Wilkinson's move from Livelink New Media to CTI Digital, where he will be head of marketing.
There's a new head of training for publisher Local World, with Nichola Glossop moving from the same role at A&N Media, while the impressively named Nelson Beaumont-Laurencia is now an events producer for Heart of Manchester Business Improvement District.
Creatively significant appointments this week at McCann Manchester, which has hired Mick Craven and Gary Delaporte as deputy creative directors.
On the jobs board this week, McCann Manchester is advertising for a "number of vacancies" including B2B Account Manager and Retail Account Manager. The former will be working on construction, software and office products, while "strong retail experience" is a must for the latter. For both roles, it'll help if you're "viewed as a real pleasure to work with by all that deal with you".
Still in Manchester, HGA Creative is after an "exceptional" Event Producer. You'll be working on events for some of the UK's "most recognisable names", and will be expected to lead creative, technical and logistics teams.
Over the Pennines in Sheffield, Diva has vacancies for both a Senior Account Manager and Account Manager. Both will be required to deliver "high-profile behaviour change campaigns, social media campaigns and research projects on environmental, health and social issues across a range of clients".
A Manchester-based financial services organisation has a need for a Head of Digital Marketing. Focused on "digital strategy and delivery", you'll be charged with improving the group's full spectrum of digital communications. The "ability to lead, educate and communicate across multiple teams" is important.
A "truly global media agency" in Manchester also has a senior role going, as a Media Comms Planning Director, and will pay up to £70k for the right candidate. It's a great opportunity for an account manager to step up, but you'll need to be someone who can "live and breathe the company ethos".
You'll need a keen interest in the fashion industry for a "high profile" role as an eCommerce Marketing Manager with an online fashion retailer in central Manchester. You'll have the job of helping to take the business "to the next level" and have the chance to make an "instant impact".
On the agency front, a integrated Manchester agency needs a Senior Account Manager with a "solid base of on and offline experience", while an "international" Manchester-based PR agency has a role going as a B2B Senior Account Manager.
A retail business on the Wirral, meanwhile, is looking for a Social Media Executive who will be responsible for the company's social media strategies and campaigns. A knowledge of fashion, lifestyle and beauty is a benefit.
