magneticNorth appoints managing director

magneticNorth has promoted Caroline Sotorrio to the newly created post of managing director.

It has also hired Stuart Almond as head of production.

Sotorrio has been with the Manchester agency since 2009 and has previously led work on the BBC Radioplayer, BBC Desert Island Discs archive site and the MiGuide project in Manchester.

“I’m thrilled to take on the role of MD at mN and to be working even more closely with Lou as we build for the future. We have an incredibly talented team and a body of work that I’m extremely proud to represent,” she said.

She will work alongside CEO and founder, Lou Cordwell on the “important next phase of the company” which turns 15 next year.

“Caroline’s appointment to MD is incredibly well deserved and she will be playing a pivotal role at magneticNorth during this next exciting and important stage of the business’s evolution,” said CEO Lou Cordwell.

Almond will report to Sotorrio, he has previously held staff and freelance production posts at the BBC and Degree 53. He’ll be responsible for delivery of products and solutions.
